How does Bridgeview Dental give back to the community?

At Bridgeview Dental Associates, we believe in giving back to the community and strive to help those in our community who are in need. One of the organizations Drs. Parks and Briles have provided dental services for includes Shepherd's Door, a long-term recovery facility for homeless women and children in northeast Portland. Shepherd's Door, an extension of the Portland Rescue Mission, strives to transform lives through their ministry and provides skill training, education, counseling and vocational assistance to help women get back on their feet and get their lives back.

In addition to serving the needy in the Portland area, both Drs. Briles and Parks have been actively involved in providing dental treatment to orphans in Cambodia, in partnership with Northwest Medical Teams. To learn more about the organizations we work with, please give us a call. Have a great weekend!

Bridgeview Dental wants to know: Could you be a teeth whitening 'addict'?

In an age—and culture—where looks matter as much as anything in life, and at a time when a set of beautiful white teeth might be the difference between getting a job or a promotion, more and more Oregonians want to look and feel great. But can there be too much of a good thing when it comes to teeth whitening? Dentists everywhere are reporting a spike in patients' complaining about irritation and bleeding gums, translucent teeth and excessive teeth sensitivity, especially to cold food and drink items. In fact, our friends at WebMD have written a helpful article on teeth whitening addiction, and we encourage you to give it a read if you suspect you may have a teeth whitening addiction.

At Bridgeview Dental, we are proud of offer the newest in-office whitening ZOOM!. The process takes just about an hour in our office. What used to take multiple "at-home" applications can now be done in one short appointment. We also offer deep bleaching, the only method that insures dramatic whitening for dark teeth and custom bleaching trays.

Give us a call and have a great weekend!

The importance of oral cancer screenings, from Bridgeview Dental

In our continuing efforts to provide the most advanced technology and highest quality care available to our patients in our Portland office, Bridgeview Dental screens our patients for oral cancer. Fact is, every hour of every day in our nation, someone dies of oral cancer, which is the sixth-most common diagnosed form of the disease.

Early detection of pre-cancerous tissue can minimize or eliminate the potentially disfiguring effects of oral cancer - and possibly save your life. Ask Drs. Briles or Parks about a screening at your next appointment and have a terrific weekend!
